Nadia has been a multi-disciplinary artist for the past 20 years. She practices visual arts - media creation and is also singer-songwriter. As a graduate of Howard University, Washington D.C. - television/film production program - she has filmed, edited and directed social media projects, institutional short films, promotional pieces, artist bios, music videos, live performances and feature-length documentaries.
She directed and co-filmed "Damaged Goods, " which aired on Showtime Networks in 2005. The film is a bold essay about people living with HIV & AIDS in Los Angeles. It was screened at the New York Film Festival, Gay Men's Health Crisis (NY), Third World News Reel Film Festival, Pan African Film Festival and the XV International HIV/AIDS Conference in Bangkok, Thailand.
Following on the success of "Damaged Goods, " Nadia completed her second feature doc "Coming Home...Fighting HIV AIDS with Culture." The 90 minute piece takes a look at the impact that traditional culture has on the progression of the disease in the Caribbean.
Both documentaries were said to be ahead of their time and yet the intense concentration on the humanity of the participants, gives way to a timeless message.
Nadia has also created video projects and/or collaborated with: WHMM TV. (Washington D.C.), RIN (Religious Information Network), Detroit, MI, AKA.com (Los Angeles, CA), The African Holocaust Committee (Los Angeles), Tha Zone TV (Los Angeles), Howdoyousayyaminafrican Global Collective, UNAIDS, The Caribbean HIV/AIDS Alliance, Caricom (Pan Caribbean HIV/AIDS unit - PANCAP) and Evmc - Evolutionary Music Co-op - and Southern Time Productions. -Toronto, Canada. A lot of her work has been used as educational tools and can be found in several public libraries.
She is a recipient of grants from The Pacific Pioneer Fund, Canada Council of The Arts, The Playboy Foundation, Pfizer and Abbott Pharmaceuticals.
As a singer-songwriter, Nadia has written music for independent film projects such as "Good Stock On The Dimension Floor - An Opera" which screened at the 2014 Whitney Bienneal, NY and The Witte de With and the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR).
